This class steps students through the techniques and instructions to create the very striking Mariposa butterfly quilt. The design features several Mariner's Compass blocks that are created with strip piecing techniques and specialty rulers. No paper piecing is used. Along the way, you will learn to use the Strip Pieced Mariner's Compass Rulers from Robin Ruth Designs. These allow you to create a variety of styles and sizes of Mariner's Compass blocks. Three different compass blocks are used in the Mariposa design. Finally, the class will step through preparing the blocks for applique and you will use the techniques for machine applique of the compass blocks and the other elements of the design.
